Darren Bauer enters his fifth season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Schreiner University for the 2026–27 campaign, continuing to elevate the program’s competitiveness as the Mountaineers join the American Southwest Conference (ASC).

The 2025 season marked a milestone under Bauer’s leadership, as Schreiner recorded its highest conference winning percentage and most goals scored since joining the SCAC in 2013. His impact has also been evident in player development, with Bauer coaching two Second Team All-SCAC selections, five Honorable Mention honorees, and five Freshman All-SCAC players during his tenure.

Prior to his arrival at Schreiner, Bauer built an impressive résumé at Liberty Hill High School in Liberty Hill, Texas. He began on the men’s side in 2013 when the school’s soccer programs were first established, before taking over both the men’s and women’s programs in 2015. From 2019 to 2022, Bauer focused exclusively on leading the women’s program. Across his time as head coach, he compiled an outstanding 232-59-17 record, highlighted by three UIL State Tournament appearances and nine UIL District titles.

Bauer’s earlier coaching experience includes serving as an assistant men’s coach at Copperas Cove High School, working with youth players at Crossfire Soccer Club and Miami Shores Soccer Club, and a stint as an assistant men’s coach at Manhattanville College. These diverse experiences helped shape his player-centered coaching philosophy and tactical approach.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Lambuth University in 2005 and later completed a master’s degree in Sports Administration and Coaching from Concordia University Texas in 2021.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bauer resides in Kerrville, Texas with his wife, Arlene, and their two sons, Reus and Kendrick.
