Kerrville, TX — February 7, 2026 — The Schreiner University Men's Tennis team opened its home competition day with a decisive 5–2 victory over Howard Payne University, showcasing dominant doubles play and composed, disciplined performances throughout singles action.​
Mountaineers Sweep Doubles to Set the Tone
Schreiner took complete control early, winning all three doubles courts to earn the opening point:
  • Line 1: Ernesto Gonzalez‑Molina / Jason Soto Jr. cruised to a powerful 6–1 win. 
  • Line 2: Ari Nadler‑Torres / Andrew Reyes battled through a tiebreak to win 7–6(7–4)
  • Line 3: Mason Thomas / Edgardo Flores sealed the sweep with a clutch 7–6(7–5) victory.
With all three doubles teams earning wins, Schreiner grabbed a 1–0 lead and carried that momentum into singles.
